Centre for Conflict Resolution
is a Non-Governmental and Non-Profit making Organization which
was established in May 1999 and was incorporated in October
2005 because of series of ethnic/religious unrest in Nigeria.
The mission of the Centre for Conflict Resolution is to
effectively mediate and arrive at amicable solution between
opposing parties, to liaise and intercede on behalf of
aggrieved with the concerned constituted authority with a view
to work out compensation and infrastructure that would ensure
a permanent resolution of crisis.
Largely, we have been quite successful in conflict management
within our immediate environment. We have been organizing
sporting events, seminars, symposia and many dispute
settlement schemes since 1999 till date by responding to
complaints promptly in view of the numerous ethnic and
religious clashes within our polity.
The Organisation has various academics, professionals in
various fields, media practitioners and students in the area
of human rights and social developments as members and
executives. Our activities ranges from critical analysis of
various structures to maintenance of peace, unity, order and
conflict free society.
We are dedicated organisation on human trafficking
particularly women and children for forced and exploitative
labour, including sex exploitation which is one of the most
egregious violation of Human Rights facing the whole of Africa
Nations including the International Community and which our
organisation now confronts. Our organisation's goal is to
ensure that all men, women and children are protected from the
scourge of trafficking worldwide.
The Organisation also charges itself with the responsibility
of Organising peace meetings, sporting events, workshops,
seminars and training members and volunteers on peace missions
locally and internationally. Handbooks, handbills journals,
stickers are also published in order to sensitize people and
create awareness towards the need for peace. CCR activities
include selfless humanitarian services beyond our present
scope by gaining International recognition and continue to
encourage an earlier resolution to conflict and responding to
complaints promptly.
